Silicone Breast Implants –
Silicone breast implants are filled with silicone which closely mimics the feel of a body’s fat tissue. These tend to be slightly more expensive for breast augmentation than saline implants.
Saline Breast Implants –
Saline breast implants are filled with a saline solution before the surgery. They tend to be a slightly “harder” sensation than silicone, but recent changes have made these almost as good as silicone Implants. Silicone implants are an excellent choice for your breast augmentation.

A good rule of thumb is that for every cup size you wish to go up, add on 250 ccs. For example, if you are looking to increase your breasts’ size by one and a half cups, then it is likely that you would want approximately 375 cc-sized implants. - Do and don’ts after breast augmentation?
Refrain from getting your breasts wet – either in a bath, shower, or pool, for the first weeks after your surgery. Don’t smoke. Smoking negatively impacts your body’s ability to heal after surgery. After your breast augmentation, don’t wear an underwire bra, which can not only be painful but also prevent your breast implants from settling properly. - What age is recommended for breast implants?
Even if you feel your breasts are fully developed by age 16, we recommend waiting until at least age 18 before having breast augmentation surgery. The FDA-recommended minimum age for breast implants is: 18 years old for saline implants. 22 years old for silicone implants. - How soon after breast augmentation can I lift my arms?
Following your breast augmentation or implants, we recommend no lifting and keeping the arms below the shoulder for at least two weeks. After that, your arms can then be raised. And for 3 months we recommend no lifting at all or no more than 10 pounds, if necessary.
